The MA specialization “Translation Studies and Interpreting” aims at introducing students to studying meaning transfer between Greek and English in various genres and contexts, focusing on research-oriented approaches to translation, interpreting, in real-life situations. Topics are research methodology in translation studies, translation theory and practice, psycholinguistic aspects of translation, translation topics, globalization and linguistic contact, theory and practice of interpretation in various text types and technological aspects of translation practices.
The duration of studies of the MA leading to a Postgraduate Studies Degree (PSD) is three (3) academic semesters, including the MA dissertation semester. Classes are taught in English.
Ninety (90) ECTS are required for the MA Degree. Classes offer sixty (60) ECTS and the dissertation thirty (30) ECTS.
Attendance is obligatory and students need to achieve an adequate score at exams or assignments of each course. The dissertation is written in the third semester of studies.
