STRUCTURE OF THE INTERDEPARTMENTAL COMMITTEE (SIC/ΕΔΕ)

Founded after publication of the 177/27-2-2020 Senate Decision of NKUA approving the Regulation of the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Programme of the Department of English Language and Literature entitled “Translation: Greek, English, Russian”, (Government Gazzette) ΦΕΚ 776 Β΄2020 (Foundation), ΦΕΚ 744 Β’ 2020 (Regulation) 10-3-2020 - *Ν. 4485/17, Ν. 4521/18.

Attending IMAP

The IMAP addresses students who are fluent in all three working languages of the Programme, i.e. Greek, English, and Russian. It leads to an MA Degree after 3 semesters, which include the Dissertation semester. The courses offered by the Department of Philology are taught in Greek, those offered by the Department of English Language and Literature are taught in English and those offered by the Department of Russian Language and Literature and Slavic Studies are taught in Russian.

Three (3) semesters is the maximum time for completing the programme. Students are entitled to make a written request for suspending studies or suspending the Dissertation preparation. SIC/ΕΔΕ may make the suspension decision, if the student presents the necessary supporting documents (e.g. of serious health problems). In case of a suspension decision, the student joins the respective semester of the next programme cycle, whenever it is run, and continues his/her studies. Suspension of studies can only be granted once. During the postponement period, the student status is removed and the skipped semesters are not included in the estimated duration of studies.

The IMAP Degree requires ninety (90) credits (ECTS). The IMAP courses provide sixty (60) credits and the dissertation another thirty (30) credits.

Attendance is obligatory, students are required to successfully pass the course assessment procedures and conduct a Dissertation in the third semester of study.

IMAP Funding

The IMAP is funded by the University budget and the budget of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs & Sports, donations, provisions, legacies and any public and private sector donations, research projects and EU project resources, or by other international research organizations, part of the Special Account Research Grant resources of the University Institution or any other legitimate source.
