Dr Areti Chalkiadaki holds a PhD in Applied Pedagogy from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) specializing in school culture and the introduction of educational practices oriented towards 21st century skills. She holds an MSc in Human Resource Management from the University of Bath (UK) and a BA from the Department of English Language and Literature of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens in the direction of Linguistics.
She has rich experience in teaching English in public primary education. She has collaborated with public and private institutions in teaching English for special purposes to adults in the fields of Business Administration and Shipping. She has provided undergraduate courses in Higher Education as an associate of the Department of English Language and Literature of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has been a scientific partner in Subproject 2 "Training of education executives and teachers of English and Pre-school education for the implementation of the Program of English Language Introduction in the Kindergarten". She has undertaken administrative and organizational duties in institutions of the Ministry of Education (Administration of Primary Education and Center for Interdisciplinary Evaluation, Counseling and Support).
She has participated as an author in the publication of an online volume, has published articles in international journals and has presented work at conferences on issues related to the training of Education Consultants for the introduction of English in kindergarten, the relationship of school culture with the successful introduction of new teaching practices as well as the study of international frameworks of 21st century skills. She has repeatedly participated in the organization of international conferences with the Institute of Humanities and Social Studies (IAKE), of which she is a founding member.
