Efterpi Mitsi is a Professor in English Literature and Culture at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is a graduate of the Department of English Literature and Culture, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from New York University. Her research on British travellers to Greece and on classical presences and echoes in English literature has been published in journals and edited volumes; she has also published the volumes Women Writing Greece: Essays in Hellenism, Orientalism and Travel (2008), In the Country of the Moon: British Women Travellers to Greece 1718-1932 ( 2005), The Letter of the Law: Literature, Justice and the Other (2013) The Periphery Viewing the Word (2004), a Glossary of Feminist Theory (2009), etc. Her recent published research includes articles on Mary Nisbet, Lady Elgin, on George Chapman, and a monograph entitled Greece in Early English Travel Writing, 1596-1682 (New Transculturalisms Series, Palgrave Macmillan, 2017). She is currently completing Troilus and Cressida: A Critical Reader for for the Bloomsbury-Arden Early Modern Drama Guides series.
