Katerina Kourkouli is a graduate of the Faculty of English Language and Literature of the University of Athens and specialized in Language-Linguistics.  She holds an M.Ed. in the teaching of English as a foreign/international language (Hellenic Open University). She is currently a PhD candidate at the English Department of the University of Athens, investigating EFL teachers’ involvement in online Communities of Practice as a means of professional development. She has been an EFL teacher for 20 years in a variety of contexts in Greece and a state EFL teacher in secondary education since 2007. She has also been involved in both ESP adult education courses and teacher training courses and her research interests concern teacher and adult education. She is currently seconded at the Faculty of English Language and Literature of the University of Athens.
